Amanda's Wedding

Peonies are such a great bloom but really have a short season when they are readily available! Amanda wanted an all peony bouquet in mixed white, light pink and hot pink. It turned out awesome, & smelled amazing!

Generally people are keeping their cakes on the simple side it seems and just want some simple floral embellishments to complete the look. I loved the Medium Pink Spray roses, with the Mermaid blue ribbon.

Costly stems like peonies aren't usually feasible for your entire event for most brides but spending the money on an amazing bouquet and then keeping with the colors for other blooms will help to unify your floral designs.

Decorating a whole archway can get expensive but creating a focal point can be done on any budget. For this wedding we hung ribbons and little bud vases from the Iron archway at Eaglewood Wedding.

Pantone names the color of the year every January. You can read more about it here. Honeysuckle is the color of the year for 2011. You will see this color infused in home design, fashion, paint and the world of accessories. This color is a a beautiful pink that suits well with so many other colors. Jessica the bride has very classic taste. Her colors were white, and tiffany blue. So for the flowers we kept everything white in Roses, Hydrangea, and Tulips. For her greens we used Bear Grass, Salal, Amarnathus, and Tree Fern.

Megan and Sammy had their reception at the beautiful Salt Lake Country Club. Their Colors were Red, Orange, and Green. We used lots of Tulips, Ranunculas, Green and Red Hypericum and Bells of Ireland for the flowers. It was so fun to see it all come together with the warm rich tones in the Country Club it all pulled together nicely.

Posh Petals is now taking weddings for Spring and Summer. I am excited to get back to working now that we're back on our feet after our latest addition. I have been itching to get back into creative mode and can't wait. One thing I've been noticing is color. Color is going to be the theme for Weddings of 2008! It's everywhere in home design lately just walk into Pottery Barn and you'll be yearning for Spring! Color is also everywhere in fashion, and merchandising for spring! Step aside pastels colors are bold and strong for the season.

With an old year behind us and the new year ahead many new brides are anticipating the new year with stress, excitement, and a feeling of being overwhelmed. As long awaited wedding dates approach the to do's of wedding bliss seem relentless. With a new year there are many exciting things going on to help with all the planning details.
January seems to be Bridal Show month. With a wedding show every weekend this month you can't help but be overwhelmed by all the advertising and comotion at the bridal shows. This past weekend Posh Petals had a booth at the Bridal Extravaganza hosted at the Grand America Hotel in Downtown Salt Lake City. We had such great time meeting all the new brides and discussing with them the possibilities of what we can do for you and your wedding. At times our booth was so busy we felt like we couldn't get everyone's questions answered at once.
As always we welcome your phone calls, and e-mails. Our consultations are by appointment and completely complimentary. So please feel freel to call and set one up.
